environment 200 The nursery environment ensures that all the children feel included, secure and valued. Our setting has a strong “homely and nurturing” environment which is both stimulating and child friendly. Children enjoy enhancing outdoor and indoor activities.

Naturally, during the day, children have ample breaks in the morning and afternoon as well as quiet times. Our small class size system enables us to give personal attention to the children’s needs.

Pupils may enter Crown Hope International Academy at ages of 3,6, 7 or 12, although places may arise from time to time in other age groups. Competition for places are stiff, and we are naturally anxious to take the children whose parents understand and sympathise with our aims, aspirations and are willing to give their support and involvement in the school family life.

CROWN HOPE HAS THE TRADITIONAL STRENGTH OF AN INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS.

The school is open from 7:30am with appropriate breaks.

Children stay for lunch and menu is varied. Lunch is eaten in the school premises. Students are not allowed outside of the school premises during lunch periods.

Our School recognises the importance of keeping parents informed about the progress of their children and conscious effort is made to see that this is done professionally. Reports are sent out twice during the school year, and formal parents’ evening meetings are held biannually.

It is compulsory that full school uniform be worn at all times. Our concern is for a good standard of dressing, and we expect boys and girls not only to keep with the range of garments laid down in the list, but also to wear them sensibly.

Crown Hope International Academy does not use corporal punishment as disciplinary measure.

Discipline is what you do for a child, not what you to a child. From time to time children need direction and discipline. By nature every child rebels against parental and school controls that suppress their excessive passion, self-will and foolishness. Unchecked by direction and discipline, these desires lead to a life of pleasurable behaviour, but not productive achievement.

Our sports facilities provide important occasions for the children to develop their physical skills in athletics and sportsmanship. Our field events are compulsory.

An annual sports event, for students and parents, is held to foster an atmosphere of positive competition and fellowship.

PTA- All parents and teachers are automatically members of the PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION.

(Students will complete Key stage 1, 2 and at key stage 3 & 4 ( 11 - 18+) learning will be directed to these exams. We hope to specialise in the sciences, preparing students with strong aptitude in those subjects for higher education in courses such as Engineering, Computer Science and Medicine amongst others. To this end, emphasis will be on the following subjects:

We aim to provide a broad and balanced early years curriculum with lots of opportunities for first-hand experience, through concrete and structural activities (Montessori and Contemporary methods) within the nursery dept. We have two groups: the rising 3 - 4’s and 5’s.

Progress is constantly monitored through observation and indirect assessments. Parents are always welcome to discuss their child’s profile report as well as join in “bonding activities”. A transition record is produced at the end of the year and passed on to the children’s new teacher to aid smooth and happy move.

THE (PRE - PREP) DEPARTMENT: Age: 6 – 8 years

The pre-prep depart has children from 6 to 8 years. Emphasis on the basic skills, which have been established in the nursery and reception department, continues and the pace of work quickens. Between ages six and seven, we strive to ensure that the children will be reading at least a year ahead of their chronological age.

THE PREP DEPARTMENT : Age: 9 -11 years

The Prep department has children from 9 to 11years. At this level the children continue to improve and expand their programme of learning and skills with curriculum broadening to include Social studies, RE, Philosophy, Verbal reasoning.

It is our desire that CHIA will ultimately become a one-stop-shop to take our children through the various stages of academic, social and spiritual development in preparation for their higher education and fulfilling career.

There is far more to education than just what takes place in the classrooms. Our main curriculum will be supplemented and complemented with a full programme of activities both during and out of school hours.
